Meet Nan

Hello and Welcome!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who enjoys working with a variety of clients. I come to you having completed a Master’s in Counseling Education from Loyola University of Baltimore, Maryland. I completed additional graduate studies at State University @ Buffalo, resulting in a Master’s Level Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling.

My experience in the field began at Ellis Medicine where I interned in both the adult inpatient psychiatric unit and adolescent inpatient unit. Following this, I provided outpatient treatment for adults and children ages 9 and up at an outpatient family clinic. It was during this time I took the National Counseling Boards and became licensed as an LMHC. I’m very passionate about the therapeutic relationship that fosters individuals and couples work in a collaborative way leading to personal growth and improved mental wellness.

In June of 2018, I opened LivWell Counseling, my private practice, while continuing my work in a community mental health clinic. In February 2019, I committed to my private practice full time. I’m now in my 6th year! I continue to increase my professional skills and still enjoy working with a varitey of clients. Primarily, I work with adults, and some couples.

A word on professional growth. Mental health is a science, and also an art. Evidence based practices are always expanding. Dedicated to continous learning, I have completed many trainings including a Master Series on Trauma from the National Institute for Clinical and Behavioral Medicine. I use this knowledge everyday, and believe it has informed my approaches across the board. I am also trained on Internal Family Systems and Attachment approaches.

Human beings live life in seasons, some bright and hopeful, others dark and lonely. Whether you are anxious, depressed, or struggling with any number of mental health problems, working with a professional can provide you the space to experience acceptance, personal exploration, and change.

Everyone has a story, but with dedication and persistence, they can build resilience, increased emotional freedom and a bright future.
